D&I THIS MONTH
Use Case Spotlight
This month, in one of our engagements we helped our client to enable Row Level Security (RLS) in their reporting environment. By enabling RLS, data availability can be limited to the region of the employee, or the privileges of the employee's position. In addition to security, this helps employees find data that is relevant to their region or position.
As old processes become more efficient, clients have more time to think of new processes. We helped our clients develop new processes quicker by building reporting templates to be more dynamic, and from an universal data model that can adapt to the structure of the new reporting process, and answer all business questions clients may have.
In our other engagements, we helped our clients improve their knowledge of ThoughtSpot by building out formulas with them. This month we helped build formulas to create custom time frames to give the client their ideal view of KPI’s over their custom time frame.
Tips & Best Practices
At D&I, we are always looking for ways to make our clients' lives easier. This month we found what helped our clients was:
Wait… No, it’s here in my pocket!! You clients should have reporting right in their pocket, meaning any dashboards or reporting should be just a few clicks away,
I knew you were going to say that!! Set up reporting processes so that, when clients or any co-workers ask for features, they can quickly be developed using existing processes.
That’s a need to know basis!! Clients needs to keep restrictions on data, using Row Level Security or Policy gives data an extra security measure, help your clients build their RLS rules based on their, criteria, roles, and data model
